Experience: 4-10 Years
We are seeking a skilled OpenText xECM Administrator / Consultant with 4-10 years of experience in OpenText Enterprise Content Management (ECM), xECM for SAP, and Content Server administration.
The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in implementing, configuring, administering, and supporting OpenText xECM integrated with SAP S/4HANA. Experience with OpenText integrations for SAP Ariba, SAP SuccessFactors, and SAP Data Archiving is mandatory.
The consultant will be responsible for OpenText platform administration, workspace configuration, security management, system maintenance, troubleshooting, and ensuring seamless integration with SAP applications while supporting business and compliance requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
Platform Administration
- Administer, configure, and support OpenText xECM for SAP environments.
- Administer and maintain OpenText Content Server environments across Development, QA, and Production landscapes.
- Install, configure, upgrade, and patch OpenText Content Server and related components.
- Monitor Content Server performance, storage utilisation, and overall system health.
- Perform system backup, restoration, and disaster recovery validation.
- Support OpenText platform upgrades, migrations, and periodic system health checks.
Configuration and Content Management
- Configure and maintain OpenText xECM Workspaces based on business requirements.
- Design and manage folder taxonomy, document structures, metadata models, classifications, and retention policies.
- Configure and maintain metadata, categories, attributes, document templates, and business object mappings.
- Configure document lifecycle management, version control, workflows, and document retention policies.
Add-On Modules
Administer and support OpenText add-on modules, including:
- Archive Center
- Viewing Services
- Migration Services
- Enterprise Scan (preferred)
- Intelligent Capture (preferred)
Security and Governance
- Design, configure, and maintain Access Control Lists (ACLs) and security permissions based on business roles.
- Manage user administration, security roles, permissions, and periodic access reviews.
- Ensure compliance with organisational governance, audit, and security standards.
Support and Documentation
- Troubleshoot Content Server, xECM, and integration-related issues.
- Prepare installation guides, configuration documents, architecture diagrams, SOPs, and operational documentation.
- Coordinate with SAP BASIS, Infrastructure, Network, Security, and Functional teams during implementations and upgrades.
SAP Integration Responsibilities
- Configure and support OpenText xECM integration with SAP S/4HANA (mandatory).
- Configure business object integration between SAP S/4HANA and OpenText xECM.
- Support document management and attachment functionality within SAP S/4HANA.
- Configure and support OpenText integration with: SAP Ariba, SAP SuccessFactors, SAP Fiori, SAP Business Workplace (where applicable).
- Implement and support SAP Data Archiving using OpenText Archive Center.
- Configure ArchiveLink, document storage, retrieval, and archive policies.
- Support SAP document migration and legacy content migration into OpenText.
- Troubleshoot SAP-to-OpenText integration issues and optimise system performance.
Required Skills
- 4-5 years of hands-on experience in OpenText ECM administration.
- Strong experience administering OpenText xECM on-premise and in the Cloud.
- Strong knowledge of OpenText Content Server administration.
- Experience configuring xECM Workspaces.
- Experience designing folder taxonomy and document classification.
- Strong knowledge of metadata management and document categorisation.
- Experience configuring and managing ACLs and security permissions.
- Experience administering Archive Center, Viewing Services, and Migration Services.
- Strong troubleshooting and performance tuning skills.
- Experience with Content Server backup, recovery, monitoring, and upgrades.
- Experience in OpenText system documentation and operational support.
Mandatory SAP Experience
- SAP S/4HANA integration with OpenText xECM.
- SAP ArchiveLink configuration and administration.
- SAP Data Archiving using OpenText Archive Center.
- SAP Ariba integration with OpenText.
- SAP SuccessFactors integration with OpenText.
- SAP document management and attachment solutions.
- SAP transport management and landscape support.
Preferred Skills
- Knowledge of OpenText Extended ECM architecture.
- Experience with OpenText Directory Services.
- Experience with OpenText AppWorks and workflow customisation.
- Knowledge of OpenText APIs, REST services, and web services.
- Experience with SQL databases used by OpenText.
- Knowledge of Linux and Windows server administration.
- Familiarity with SAP BASIS administration and SAP security concepts.
- Experience working in cloud or hybrid OpenText deployments.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- OpenText Content Server or Extended ECM certification preferred.
- SAP S/4HANA or SAP ECM related certifications are an advantage.
