CORS is a security exception , it means the request URI , processing and response URI is being not the same i.e. not from the same origin. it could be wrong configuration of SSL certificates (mis match alias, missing full certificate chain etc.)

in some cases (SSL offloading) the middle ware like loadblancers or web dispatches or proxies needs to set some headers before forwarding the request to actual server for response.
