you can request for a directory on any mount with sufficient space.. and I would prefer 755 instead of 777 (BTW no hard and fast true, just a preference from a security point of view)

Btw it’s not mandatory to install inside /etc

Just ensure that /etc/opentext/landscape folder is present and the opentext user on Linux machine have full permission on this folder

It is centralised folder where all the OT components registry(kind of registry) will be maintained

I am installing otds in different location but creating /etc/opentext with 777 permission is causing the risk and customer don’t want to create this under etc
